Thanks for your update and the video Bob.
Now with the new half tubes it looks much better. :)
Maybe in further you will make some tests with a higher blade depth too.
The endcaps should increase the power of the rotor around 20%.
With endcaps the rotor should start even better than now, nearly without wind... :)

Hi Bob,
this rotor looks much better besides the improvements, Bernd mentioned. It would be nice to have an upside look on the floating blades to see their movement in the wind going left an right with a wind vane showing the direction of the wind. I am thinking of the floating C in a Lenz rotor and I hope to soon come back with a test rotor and a wind tunnel for testing.

Hello I have been doing some wind speed testings with my new C Floating VAWT.
First the blades do move in to a few postions when rotating.kind of like a sail boat going in a circle.
It starts to move and make power at 5 MPH with my Mann Smart Drive it has 14 inchs of cogging.
Here are the open Volts DC at wind speed stator has 26 OHMs each coil
MPH--- Volts DC
10----- 49
15--- 108
20--- 140
25--- 218
30--- 270

We may push 400 Watts at 30 MPH and 100 Watts at 10 MPH using the Mann Smart controller.
We are pushing over 100 Watts per AC line in Star at 30 MPH it has been hard to adjust load
to pull all power out of stator. The Mann Smart Controller should fix that will test in a few days.

We must limit wind test to 10 MPH for this test only one controller on hand have Boston Home Show
to show off VAWT and Controller Jan 20 -22

Looks fine! Do you already have some numbers about revolution speed with/without generator and the Watts produced? And do the C profiles move to ether side or only to one side to minimize the wind pressure?

Can you compare the results you got until now with the results you got from the Lenz rotor ?

The Lenz all was took till 10+ MPH to move loaded or not.
When I have some time I do have a set of Lenz to test with this hub did plan on doing back to back testing.

I do like the your C rotor Blade for many resons.

Hello We have been working hard on getting ready for the Boston Home Show Jan 21-22 to show the turbine and controller.
We have done one test drive with wind data logger hooked up.
As I has said the C Floating starts to move a 5 MPH and is making 20+ watts at 10 MPH
at 20 MPH we make 100 watts and projection are on track to do 300 to 400 watts at 30 MPH.
I think we are doing very good for a 1 meter by 1 meter aira( 4 ft high by 45 inchs round 5 blade)
The Smart Controller works like a said it would. we can incresce the out put by 100% on a PMA.

It seems that the C-Rotor had do go to the states to become a winner. :)
Your results until now are sounding pretty good. Keep it up !
It would be nice if you in further could be able to calculate the efficiency of your c-rotor derivate.

Hello I finished the Boston Home Show it went well. I did a Pro VID on the turbine and Smart Controller take a look and let me know what you think.
